How it was done
What is the challenge faced?
The packaging process was outdated and unable to adapt to the digital environment. It was necessary to ensure traceability and maintain food safety by accessing data easily.
The project’s objective:
Transform the packaging of roasted coffee to eliminate generated waste by replacing disposable bags with reusable containers.
Action plan:
A new design for the packaging and labeling process was proposed, allowing the monitoring of phases through a digital tool, with which traceability information and washing control can be recorded. It also includes access to an open platform for checking the process status.
What has changed?
Initially, more than 24,000 bags were used and discarded each year.
Currently, over 528 kilograms of waste are avoided each year.
